1. The free homepage demo

Every site starts with a free demo of your homepage, so you can see how it could look before you decide anything. It's free and there's no obligation. The demo is the homepage only, and it's shown on a private preview link marked "Demo", never on your own domain.

It's one demo per business, with up to 2 rounds of changes. The demo's design stays mine unless you book in, so please don't use it elsewhere.

2. Price and payment

Websites start from £1,500. £1,500 covers a custom site of up to 10 pages with everything listed here. If your site needs more pages or more complex features, I'll quote for it before you book in, so you always know the price first.

• 50% of your price to book in.
• The other 50% at launch.

3. What's included in the build

• Custom design built around your business (not a template), up to 10 pages
• Mobile-first, fast-loading build
• Click-to-call, Google Maps location, reviews and a photo gallery
• Enquiry form that sends straight to your inbox
• SEO set up properly: page titles, descriptions, sitemap, Google Business Profile link, and link previews for WhatsApp and social media
• Clear, structured pages that search engines and AI assistants can read properly
• A simple editor so you can update key content yourself
• Connecting your own domain (you buy it and you own it)
• Help setting up business email (you pay your email provider)

The build covers up to 10 pages. Pages that show your work, like case studies, don't count towards the 10, and we'll agree how many to include when we plan your site. If you need more pages, get in touch and I'll quote for your site.

4. What you provide

To build your site, I'll need a few things from you, like your business details, the services you offer, photos of your work and any reviews you'd like to include. There's a full list on the Pricing page. Don't worry if you don't have everything: I can help write the words, and photos from your phone are fine.

Your build timeline starts once I have your content. If it hasn't arrived within 30 days of booking in, I may need to reschedule your build. If that happens, I'll get in touch and we'll find a new date that works for you.

5. What happens at launch

You pay the rest of your price at launch, and your site goes live on your own domain. From launch, I recommend the care plan for £40 a month, so I look after everything for you. If you'd rather arrange your own hosting, I can hand over your site's files on request. You'd then pay your hosting provider directly, and any changes I make later are quoted per job. You can join the care plan any time later, too.

6. The care plan

The care plan is £40 a month, for as long as you'd like it. I'll host your site, keep it running and make changes for you. It's still your website. It includes:

• Hosting, SSL and security
• Up to 1 hour of changes a month
• Access to the simple editor
• Support from me directly

What counts as a small update

The care plan includes up to 1 hour of changes each month, like changing text, adding photos, or updating prices or opening hours. You can send me photos of finished work by message or email and I'll add them. Unused time doesn't carry over to the next month. For anything bigger, like new features or new kinds of section, I'll quote first, so you always know the price.

Cancelling

There's no long contract. The care plan runs month to month, and you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice, and you take your site with you.

7. What's yours

• Your domain is always yours. You buy it in your own name, right from day one.
• Your code and files (including your photos, text and logo) are yours once the build is paid for.

If you ever want to move on, I'll hand everything over and your site will keep running.

Your site will have a small "Made by Umber Motion" credit at the bottom of the footer. If you'd rather not have it, just ask and I'll take it off.

8. Things I quote for separately

These aren't part of the build or the care plan, but I'm happy to help with them. You'll always know the price first.

• New features or new kinds of section, like booking systems or custom layouts
• Full online shops (simple selling, like a few products, deposits or gift vouchers, is something we can talk about)
• Booking systems and business automation
• Business card design
• Domain and email costs (paid directly by you)

9. Domain and email costs

You buy your domain in your own name (usually around £10 to £20 a year), so it's always yours. I'll guide you through it in a few minutes and handle all the setup. Already have one? Just give me access and I'll do the rest. Your domain and business email are paid directly by you to the providers, not to me. I'll help you set up business email, too.

10. If you're buying as a private individual

If you're buying for yourself rather than for a business (for example, a personal or portfolio site), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking in, without giving a reason. Just email me at umbermotion@gmail.com within those 14 days. [Details of what happens if work has already started: TBC]

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
